Well we just finished our first day and wow what a day. We exceeded all our goals for the day. We hoped everyone that came in enjoyed the food and will come back to see us soon. Please let me know how you liked it if you came by. If not, then please come by and check us out.
Finally Open!
June 9th, 2009Getting Close
May 27th, 2009Well inspections are nearly complete. We have one more tomorrow and we should get our certificate of occupancy soon after that! We just installed our security system so we’re gradually bringing in more equipment into the restaurant. We were also able to get a great deal with Dr. Pepper. They’ve given us a brand new fridge for free. The only catch is that we have to sell their products which is fine. One of my best friends live off Dr. Peppers! We also have tables so it’s looking like a real restaurant now. Here’s my good friend’s photo of our new tables.
Inspecting
May 19th, 2009Construction is finally done and we are just waiting for all the inspections to complete. Our sign is not up yet so we’ve put up a temporary sign until the real sign comes. Once we get the inspection, we will start taste testing our food and soon everyone will be able to enjoy some delicious Thai food delivered to you!

May 15th, 2009Major Changes Coming!
May 12th, 2009With construction nearing complete, we look forward to all the inspections we’ll need to get this place open and running. Of course this means, major changes to the restaurant as we bring in chairs and tables, computers, TVs, etc. Keep coming back as we’ll have pictures of the restaurant with chairs and tables soon!
Getting Close
May 2nd, 2009Looks like things are rolling well so far (knock on wood) and we are nearing the finishing line on the construction part. Once construction is done, we’ll proceed with the testing phase. We’ll test how our food will taste and look in the containers we’ve chosen. Of course our recipes create delicious and authentic thai dishes, but we want to ensure what you are eating is the best you’ve had. Therefore, it requires some testing to ensure when you get eat our food, you’ll feel like you’re sitting on the streets of Bangkok enjoying this dish while hearing tuk tuks drive down the street.
Topped and Equipped
April 28th, 2009Today, our granite countertops are being installed. It makes the counter look a whole lot better. I was also able to get a shot of my GC in the pic. He’s always running around like crazy. If you’re ever looking for a contractor, this is the guy to see. Contact me and I’ll give you his number.
The vent shaft is also near completion. It looks like a huge robotic tentical from the sky! Take a look and you’ll see what I mean.

I could probably use it as an escape chute.
Our equipment is also coming in gradually. We did have some issues with the size of one table as all the cooking equipment must be under the hood. We had to get a smaller table to accomodate the lack of space under the hood but everything worked out so far. Check it out and let me know what you guys think.
Getting Lighted
April 27th, 2009This week the lighting for the front came in and it looks pretty cool. My favorite are the ones lining the front of the restaurant overlooking the bar tables. The ceiling fan was also installed inside the “halo”. I was able to describe to my GC what type of lighting I wanted and he picked them out for me. I like them!
I’ve posted some pictures below. Please let me know what you think!

The counter now has lights which are pretty cool. Unfortunately, if Dirk were to ever visit he’d be staring straight into these bad boys.

These are my favorite of all the lights.
Full Speed Ahead!
April 22nd, 2009Now that we have all the approvals in place our construction team has gone full speed! I went in to take a picture of the place this morning and already there were a couple of workers working on the vent hood system for the kitchen. The ice machine was also delivered. It’s gigantic!
Here’s a picture of the machine:

Then I stopped by during lunch and found over 10 workers doing several things on the place. Cable, internet, phone lines, lights all being worked on. Also the counter was installed. Take a look and let me know what you think!

T2G Gets the Greenlight
April 16th, 2009Well we finally receive the approval we need to build our vent shaft which will go up 5 stories high. It’s the drawbacks of opening up a restaurant under an apartment complex. The contractor needed to access the shaft space on every floor which means that he’ll needed to punch a hole through the wall. We had to get permission from the apartment owners first. After weeks of going back and forth and jumping through many hoops we’re good to go! Now it’s full steam ahead and the kitchen should be done in 3 weeks!
